Prof. Yanbo Liu,Wuhan Textile University,China

Yanbo Liu received her BS and MS degrees in Textile Engineering from Tianjin Polytechnic University, China in 1986 and 1991 respectively, she got her PhD in Material Science and Engineering from The University of Tennessee, USA, in 2004. Prof. Liu has worked with Jilin Wool Spinning & Weaving Factory (Jilin), Novozymes China (Beijing) and North America (Raleigh, USA), Hongda Research Institute Co. Ltd (Beijing), and Tianjin Polytechnic University (Tianjin) as research scientist, senior engineer, or associate professor during 1986-2015, performing researches regarding textiles, fiber based composites and nonwovens, electrospun materials and equipment. During 1999-2000, she worked at the School of Textiles, NCSU, USA, for one year with the financial support from China Scholarship Council (CSC) as visiting scholar. In 2015, she was invited and introduced to the Department of Nonwoven materials and engineering, School of Textile Science and Engineering, Wuhan Textile University, China, as “Yangguang Scholar”. Her current research is focused on electrospinning technology, covering the principles, process control, equipment, and products.
She has published more than 100 papers on internationally and nationally important academic journals, presented 15 oral/invited reports on national and international conferences, edited one book in English, applied for about 30 national and international patents, among which 15 patents were authorized. Additionally, she has presided or participated in four projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), two projects from Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission (TMSTC), and twenty projects from domestic enterprises and companies. She has received 5 provincial and ministerial awards for scientific and technological progress.
She created the methods for understanding the electric field distribution along the spinneret during multineedle electrospinning or needleless electrospinning based on finite element analysis, and generated methods for improving electric field intensity and its distribution to minimize the End effect, which can result in uniform electrospun nanofiber web, laying foundation for industrialization of electrospinning technology in China.
